The History of the Desertrose Cricket Club
Foundation:
Founded in 2000, The Desertrose Cricket Club is one of the clubs in the country devoted to the playing of games. As the name indicates, the Club was formed by a group of young men of Karumandabam , Trichy who had played the game in their area level with tennisball as gully cricket. They wish to continue to play together in the TDCA league ,
In to the Official League
IThey formed the Club in 2000. In the first year of the entrant in TDCA league , reached finals in qualify knockout for league entrance. club entered the division league of Tiruchirapalli District Cricket Club and weathered many a storm to retain the place in the division continuously for six years . It was only the uncompromising attitude and challenging nature of the members brought in glory to the team. Plagued by financial constraints the club struggled a lot and it went to the extent that the club had to wait for the secondhand cricketing gears to come to the market. The club is inviting young people interested in playing cricket and participating in club championships and other form of cricket game. aims to give opportunity to young and upcoming players to develop their skills and get ready to represent the senior team.It also gives opportunity to senior members who wish to develop their skills.
On its own Identity
Right from the beginning the club inculcated a culture in its members which no one else can claim ever. That was a culture of true sports man spirit, integrity, sincerity, honesty, sacrifice and a big sense of personal discipline. The club never believed in taking players from outside to boost the chances of the club for any specific purpose but believed only in making players and personalities to serve cricket for a long time. This is reflected in the fact that the club has won the best disciplined team where ever such an award was given.
Future
Now the club is on its path of return to its glory in terms of quality of players produced. The services of a qualified coach are being availed although on a non regular basis. Club has plans to start a permanent coaching facility at a common place and is on the lookout for the same. There are lots of old members who are willing to contribute to the cause. Every one has a single mind˜Tomorrow should be ours".

DESERTROSE CRICKET CLUB Constitution
NAME/COLOUR
The Club shall be known as ‘Desertrose Cricket Club’. Our uniform color will be “WHITE” for League and Friendly games.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the Club will be:
1. To offer competitive opportunities in cricket
2. To promote the Club and the sport of cricket within the local community
3. To provide all of its services in a way that is fair to everyone
4. To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment
5. Always put members first than wining the game
MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the Club shall be open to all, irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, color, social status or sexual orientation and not unreasonably restricted, to any person who is prepared to accept the objectives of the Club.
SUBSCRIPTION
Annual Subscription and Match Fees for the coming season are recommended and decided by the Committee.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Full membership will be Rs.100 plus match fees monthly( league matches).
Players membership will be Rs.30 plus match fees monthly (*Only league matches).
MANAGEMENT
The Club will be managed by a Committee that shall consist of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Captains. The Committee will conduct its business in accordance with the Club Constitution. All Committee Members must be members of the Club. The Committee has authority to co-opt other Club Members from time to time as it thinks appropriate. The Committee shall meet regularly to conduct the business of the Club and accepted Committee protocols shall apply.
CAPTAIN
The Captain is expected to put the interest his teammates first and foremost. He will carry out the plan that was talked by the team before start of the game.
QUESTIONS AND MATTERS ARISING
In the event of any question or matter arising that is not provided for in the constitution, such question or matter shall be dealt with by the Committee, whose decision shall be final. Members who will misbehave to damage clubs image on or off the field will be fined or will be terminated from the club membership. Prorated membership due will be return to the member. This will hold true to committee members as well.
SPECIAL MEETINGS
The Secretary shall convene a Special Meeting at any time by order of the Committee, or on receiving a request signed by at least 50% of the members.
FINANCE
All Club monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the Club. The Club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the Club. Proper accounts shall be kept of all sums of money received and paid out by the Club. The Financial Year of the Club ends on 30th October. An audited statement of accounts, up to and including this date, shall be presented to all members at the end of club year.
TEAMS
The Committee shall select Teams to represent the Club in any Competition or match.
TROPHIES
The Club will award the following trophies annually.
Best Batsman,
who will be decided by:-
Total runs scored for a single season and having the best average. Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.
Best Bowler,
who will be decided by:-
Total wickets taken for a single season and best economy rate. Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.
Best All rounder :
ALTERATION OF THE CONSTITUTION
The Constitution shall be reviewed by the Committee annually and changes may be proposed. Individual members may also propose changes. All proposed changes shall be forwarded to the Secretary on or before the 15th October. No alteration shall be made unless supported by a majority of those members
